It is the morning after Loy Krathong, the Full Moon Festival and I am just realizing that our trip is almost over. It has been really fun and a completely eye opening experience but I will be glad to get back to the US where it is clean and not so hectic and hot and where I will be able to fully communicate in English and not have to worry about getting ripped off.Anyways, the festival was a really good time and it sounds kind of wussy but it was a truly magical experience.
We started off the night with a couple large Singhas at our hotel restaurant. An Australian girl named Kylie introduced herself to us by buying us two beers and we hung out with her for the rest of the night. She is a cool chick. It was her first night in Thailand so Kevin and I enjoyed feeling like travel vets and giving her tips about how not to get ripped off even though we still get ripped off everyday.
So, Loy Krathong, don’t really know the significance of the festival for Thais but it is the biggest festival or celebration of the year from what we have heard. Aside from other things, Thai people float little floral arrangements with candles on them down the Chao Phraya river. You make a wish as you do this and if your floral boat makes it to the ocean your wish comes true, or something like that.

We walked around the festival area, put a floral boat in the water, ate some food, hit the toilet bus, bought some sparklers and a hello kitty balloon, sat by the river and drank some beers. It was good times. We all got wasted, Kevin ended the night with a chick that for sure didn’t have a wiener and it was all good.
Today we will get yellow shirts.

November 13 – 1:40 PM
Yellow shirts have been achieved. A tuk tuk driver took us around the block for a hundred baht to an outdoor clothing market. Searched through hundreds of stalls and finally found the yellow shirt store. It wasn’t easy but we did it and it was worth it.
